A Journey of Courage and Hope for Couples living with metastatic breast cancer is being offered on August 20, 21, 22 in Marriottsville, MD.  This weekend event is free of charge and offers a program of support and information as well as lodging and meals. 

Marc Silver, author of Breast Cancer Husband will be speaking, a medical oncologist will be available to answer questions, along with other topics and discussion available throughout the weekend.

NCCN 2010 Congress Series: Breast Cancer™
Treatment of Metastatic Disease

Program Overview:
Strategies for the treatment of metastatic breast cancer are highly individualized. This webinar will provide an enhanced understanding of the factors used to evaluate patient and disease characteristics in women with metastatic breast cancer, which can facilitate treatment decision-making.

Treatment of Metastatic Disease:

Educational Objectives:

  • Describe the criteria for first line therapy with a hormonal regimen.
  • Summarize the relative risks and benefits relating to use of HER2 targeted therapy with hormonal therapy vs reserving it for use in combination with cytotoxic chemotherapy.
  • Summarize the criteria for selecting a cytotoxic chemotherapy regimen either as first line metastatic therapy or following failure of hormonal therapy.
  • Choose an optimal, individualized treatment strategy for a patient with MBC.

Intended Audience:

This educational program is designed to meet the educational needs of oncologists, nurses, pharmacists, and other health care professionals who manage patients with cancer.
