October 13th has been designated
METASTATIC BREAST CANCER AWARENESS DAY
by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg
,
in an effort to focus public attention on this significant, under-served breast cancer population.

On this day in 2007, the Metastatic Breast Cancer Network (MBCN), along with Young Survival Coalition (YSC), and in conjunction with NYU Cancer Institute, held  an educational conference devoted solely to the treatment and concerns of people living with advanced breast cancer.
